Part of a collection of photographs taken by Robert (Bob) Leitch in the 1920s of Cheshire, whilst cycling with Rover Scouts. His cycling companions included William (Bill) Lloyd and Harold Litherland. Rover Scouting is the final stage in the Scouts’ Association, after Beavering, Wolf Cubbing, Scouting and Senior Scouting.
St Mary's Parish Church in Astbury dates from the 13th and 14th centuries and is a Grade I listed building. The spire was struck by lightning and rebuilt in 1838.
