The hotel stood on the original site of Shrewbridge Farm. Michael Bott, owner of Nantwich Mill from 1795, had the farm demolished and built a white stone mansion called Shrewbridge Hall in 1828. The Nantwich Brine and Medical Bath Company bought it in 1883 and converted it into the Brine Baths Hotel which opened in 1893. It was used as an auxiliary hospital in the First World War and was demolished in 1959.
